Fashion Tips For Working Moms

0

Fashion has always been a part of my DNA. Ever since I was a child, I’ve always had my own unique style. I’m not saying I’ve always had great style, but I’ve always taken pride in my appearance. As I’ve gotten older, became a mom, and juggled what life has thrown at me; my body is a little heavier, a little curvier, and I just don’t have the time to give fashion as much thought as I used to. So here are some fashion and style tips for working moms that I use to maintain a stylish yet functional wardrobe.

I Still Want to Be Cool

Some days I work from home, run errands and juggle a million things throughout the week. At the same time, I am a working mom, I have clients I meet with regularly and occasionally go to the office. I’m not as young and free as I used to be, but I still want to be “cool”… and I don’t want to feel old! Over the years, I’ve learned how to simplify my fashion choices. And I still take pride in my appearance and want to be that “cool mom” I always thought I’d be.

Fashion Sneakers to the Rescue

I have a special place in my heart for fashion sneakers. After years of wearing heels and uncomfortable shoes in the name of fashion, I declare a comfort war. In my opinion, comfortable fashion sneakers complete any “cool mom” look. I literally wear fashion sneakers as often as I can. Dress them up, with a cute Sundress and a Denim Jacket. Dress them down with a Moderately Ripped Jean and a White Tee. They’re ideal for everything from running errands to the widely accepted, smart-casual office attire. When it comes to chasing after and playing outside with my little one, there’s really no other option.

Keep It Simple

Great style is all about choosing great fabrics, quality timeless pieces, and versatile items that can all work well together. I utilize these 10 items regularly and easily mix and match them in different combinations each week. I don’t get caught up in having the latest trends. If you keep it classic, you’ll always be in style.

Size Doesn’t Matter

I always make sure to choose the right cut that flatters my body type. The proper fit should not be too tight or too loose. Ideally, I like to try on clothes before purchasing. I give myself a hard look in the mirror and if it doesn’t fit properly, I move on. It’s not about the size of the tag, it’s about how it feels when I have it on.

Confidence is Key

What I’ve always loved about fashion, is that it’s not just about looking good, it’s about making you feel good too. Undoubtedly, when you’re confident, your entire mood changes and you can look at challenges differently both at work and in life. At the end of the day, being a confident mom is the ultimate “cool mom” look for me.

So I will leave you with my top 10 list of wardrobe must-haves. These are items in my everyday wardrobe that I can’t live without; when they start to look too worn, I replace the item.
