Fun Places to Visit With Children in Central Mass

0

As a full-time stay-at-home mom of a very active three-year-old boy, I am always on the hunt to find fun places to visit in Central Mass to keep busy. I have a stubborn and obsessive “threenager”, and I am not one to try new things. So some places end up being zero fun while others are a big hit. The places we have visited on this list are an automatic day of fun for my family.

Great Wolf Lodge – Fitchburg, MA

I know several people that have visited this indoor water park and hotel. I have heard mixed reviews about it, so I needed to check it out myself. We decided to try it after we canceled our vacation to Florida. We still wanted to have a fun experience as a family, and this was definitely worth it. I honestly couldn’t tell you who had more fun – the parents or the child. It was amazing and such a sight to see.

There are two different areas with several slides, a lazy river, a wave pool, and a splash pad area. My son could have stayed at that splash pad area ALL DAY LONG. There is still so much to do outside of the waterpark. Other things to do include a mini golf course, a ropes course, a carousel, an arcade, and a few shops to explore. The food wasn’t anything special, but it was fine for one night. They have a schedule of different activities for kids to do throughout the day. There is a pajama dance party at night to tire the kids out before bed. We visited in October, and they had trick-or-treating throughout the whole venue.

Davis Farmland – Sterling, MA

This gem is over 20 acres of non-stop fun in Sterling. There are never-ending activities for your littles (and even yourself) to enjoy. There is a whole petting zoo area where you can even purchase food at the entrance to feed them. Do your littles love to jump? There is a bounce house and a jumping pad for unlimited jumping time. Do your littles love water? There is a splash pad with bubbles, water tables, and inflatable water slides. At Davis Farmland, there are play areas, playgrounds, and a pretend village for children to play in. You can purchase food there or bring your own lunches.

Let’s Bee Kids PlayCenter – Hudson, MA

I found this gem when restrictions were easing up, and we just needed to get some interaction with others. Let’s Bee Kids PlayCenter is an indoor play space suitable for infants through age 8. They have several different toys to explore, a bounce house with a ball pit, and they have a whole room for sensory and crafts. The staff provides language lessons where they teach the kids Portuguese while doing crafts with them. They have dance parties and bubbles. My favorite part is the friendly staff/owners who learn everyone’s name and get to know the kids and parents. My son loves going there, and it’s great that it is right up the road from us. We even had his second birthday party there, and they did an amazing job with all the details.

Discovery Museum – Acton, MA

Discovery Museum was another place I had to try after I saw people post pictures on social media. It did not disappoint. It provides such a great combination of learning and fun. Some exhibits include a water gallery, AirPlay, a sound gallery, and a train room. Outside there is a tree house with different areas to explore as well. If you’re looking for a fun and educational place to explore, this is the perfect place.

These are just a few of our favorite places to visit to keep busy. Are any of these places on your list of favorites? What are some fun places that your family visits in Central Mass?
