I was especially excited to put this Mom’s Night Out together because I have loved doing puzzles for as long as I can remember. It’s a hobby that I really enjoy and I was so excited to share this part of me with other puzzle-loving local moms!
Amanda Khatib, one of our contributors, provided us with an extensive selection of puzzles from her collection to choose from and generously offered them up for attendees to take home with them as part of our puzzle exchange.
The room provided a gorgeous view of Lake Quinsigamond out of the windows that span the entire back wall of the room. The room was light, bright, and spacious. Thinking about the space for family-friendly events, I liked that the whole space was one big room, so you could easily keep your eyes on kids from across the room. The bathrooms are also located directly off the main space, which just simplifies everything (IYKYK).
We had planned to have attendees rotate around the room to provide the opportunity to meet more people, but when the time came to switch, everyone was committed to their current puzzles and opted to keep the conversations going at their initial tables. Conversations flowed the whole night, and several attendees commented that this event really made for a comfortable way to meet other moms with an activity to keep busy with as they talked.
Central Mass Mom provided some charcuterie and cookies, and there were drinks, both a full bar selection, as well as non-alcoholic options available for purchase. We even got to chatting with the bartender, and it turns out she is a puzzle lover herself!
