5 Feel-Good TV Shows

Our days as mothers are jam-packed from start to finish! Long, stressful, and exhausting with a to-do list that grows as the day goes on. So, when we finally get some time to relax and unwind, most of us tend to reach for the remote. After a tiring day, all we want is to kick back on the couch with something entertaining. But now we have to make yet another decision, what do we watch?

With so many categories of TV shows to choose from, we can lose ourselves in scrolling through all those options to find something to watch. It can be time-consuming trying to make that final choice. When the day is at its end, I’m drained. The last thing I want to do is lose myself in a story that could raise my anxiety, give me nightmares, or leave me questioning humanity. Life is hard enough, why spend what little downtime I have intentionally agitating myself? So, when it comes to picking something to stream, I tend to stick with stories that make me feel good.

Below are 5 feel-good TV shows for you that are filled with laughs and life lessons along with a brief synopsis and where you can find them:

Ted Lasso (Apple TV)

The positivity is infectious in this inspiring show surrounding the sport we know as soccer. While shining a light on mental health, Ted Lasso shows us what we are capable of when we embrace change, work hard on ourselves, and simply believe.

Schitts Creek (Hulu)

Character growth, heartfelt moments, and amazing fashion are what you’ll get when you watch this wealthy family lose it all and have to start from scratch. Enjoy watching Johnny, Moira, David, and Alexis learn how to be a family while learning how not to be selfish. Will they regain their fortune, or will they forever be up Schitts Creek?

Abbott Elementary (Hulu)

Educators are some of the hardest workers out there! It’s no wonder they all have hearts of gold. Shining a light on the public school system and just how hard these teachers have it, this show keeps it real all while keeping a smile on your face. With a vibe that reminds me of The Office, this show is absolutely deserving of all of its recent accolades.

Friends (Max)

When you’re trying to figure your life out, who can you lean on? Your friends! An oldie but a goodie! This show is one of my favorites about that time in your life when your friends are your family. A great go-to when you’re not sure what you need. This show will always be there for you. It says so in their theme song!

The Good Place (Netflix)

What happens when you ask for help from others when you want to stop being a complete dirtbag? You get The Good Place. This show is based on the afterlife and is filled with lessons in philosophy, karma, and how we spend the time we have while we have it. With an amazing cast working with great writers, you’ll find yourself flying through this highly underrated show.

While there are so many great TV shows out there that leave you feeling satisfied and smiling, I’d love to learn about what shows make you all happy. What are some of your favorite feel-good shows? Let us know!
