Halloween. It’s the one time of year when we’re on the search for fear. The horror film genre is filled with such a wide variety of dark and ominous topics. Finding something that will turn your dreams into nightmares should be easy. Searching for the perfect movie that will leave you wanting to sleep with the light on is a ritual many of us look forward to all year. However, this can get a little tricky when it comes to finding toddler-friendly Halloween movies for your little ones.
We want our children to be happy and get in on the spooktacular fun, but we also need to ensure they can still sleep at night. The last thing we want is to accidentally traumatize them because we were enjoying the festivities. Halloween, while scary, should also be an enjoyable experience for all ages. Navigating this fine line can sometimes be challenging.
We should not be watching horror movies with our toddlers, but children ages one to three can still very much enjoy watching Halloween-themed programs. I am here to tell you that there are plenty of movies available for this age demographic.
First, I recommend watching the film yourself before showing any new movie to your child. This way you can make the final decision on what you deem appropriate for your little one. It’s also a great way to scout out any extra spooky moments you think may negatively affect them. While these suggestions may be toddler-friendly, what is acceptable for one parent may not be for another.
