There is nothing more that I enjoy than Super Bowl Sunday! From cheering on your favorite football team to the massive fun concert in the middle of the game. Growing up we’d always go to a neighbor’s and have a party, but with two little ones, it’s now an excuse to make game day snacks and stay up late!
Here are some of my favorite Super Bowl recipes to share with your family or a crowd at a party on game day:
Pull Apart Pizza Bread
This is always my go-to and a crowd favorite! I make this for holidays or as an appetizer for kickoff!
Ingredients:
1 bag mozzarella cheese
1 can premade pizza crust
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese grated cheese
1 can of marinara
1 egg
Herbs of your choosing
Take the can of pizza crust and roll it out to your desired thickness. Using a pizza cutter, cut into 2” squares. Take each square and fill it with cheese (and any topping, mini pepperonis are my go-to) then fold it into a ball. I form a football shape as I arrange the pizza balls on a tray. Once this is completed I give them an egg wash, which you can sprinkle with herbs and Parmesan cheese. Pop these in a 450-degree oven for 15-20 minutes. Enjoy these warm with marinara on the side for dipping!
Soft Pretzel Bites with Cheese Sauce
My daughter’s new obsession is pretzels. While you can totally buy frozen ones and call it a day, here’s a semi-homemade hack for another yummy game day approved snack!
Ingredients:
1 can premade pizza dough
Salt: rock or kosher
Butter
1 egg
1/2 cup baking soda
For these easy-to-make pretzel bites, you’ll need 3 quarts of water in a large pot boiling while your oven preheats to 425 degrees. Roll out your pizza dough to cut and roll your pretzel nuggets into your desired size. You will combine the baking soda with the water, and let each pretzel bite take a swim for 30 seconds before being placed on a cookie sheet. Whisk one egg in a bowl and give it an egg wash after the baking soda swims, add salt, and bake for 10-15 minutes. You should be greeted with golden brown nuggets when they’re done. Once out of the oven brush with butter and enjoy
Cheese Dip:
Melt 2 tablespoons unsalted butter in a non-stick pan and add 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour. Stir until slightly brown. While whisking add 1 cup of room-temperature whole milk and continue until the mixture thickens and you see see the whisk leaving a trail in the mixture. Add 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese and whisk until smooth. You can also add 1/2 teaspoon of paprika to give it some kick! This is best served warm!
Crockpot Pulled Pork Sandwiches
This is probably my easiest go-to!
Ingredients:
Rolls
Preferred BBQ sauce (we’re a Sweet Baby Rays family)
Any cut of pork (I usually grab what’s on sale)
Apple juice or hard cider
This is probably the easiest meal in the world. Soak the meat in either apple juice or hard cider, salt, and pepper. Cook it low and slow! When you’re done, shred and add your BBQ sauce. Set to warm, and enjoy!
Brownie Batter Dip
After filling up on some apps and sandwiches, you need a yummy halftime dessert! For an easy option, try a brownie batter dip! This would be delicious with pretzels, graham crackers, or cookies!
Ingredients:
1 box brownie mix
Cream Cheese
Cool Whip
Milk
Chocolate chips
Start by creaming the cream cheese first and add in your cool whip. Add in the brownie mix and chocolate chips before serving with your favorite snacks!
