Mom’s Night Out at Fourth & Field was a huge hit!
We had 50 local moms gather together for a specially curated menu – just for us! It was filled with specialty drinks, crafted mocktails, and delicious plates of farm-to-table comfort food! Some moms came with a friend, some with a group of friends, and some came alone to their first mom’s night out event!
One of the moms who came alone happened to be one of our new writing contributors, Carly. She wanted to share her experience coming to her first event alone to encourage moms – who may be afraid to come solo – to let go of the fear and come anyway!
Parking in the darkness and rain you can spot the colored lights of the runway, and the warm lights at the door invite you in as the outside lights hint at fun times ahead in warmer weather. Fourth & Field is a cozy little venue on an active airstrip. As you walk in there is a bar at the front to grab a drink before heading into the small, private dining room in the back. There in the back room was Annie, Owner & CEO of Central Mass Mom, waiting to meet me and check me in. I got my name checked off the list and struck up a conversation with a mom in front of me.
As we moved into the dining area another mom joined us, and we all took a seat together. As the room started filling up with ladies chatting away, Annie, got everyone’s attention and set us a challenge. Speak to one other person that you didn’t know and didn’t go to the event with.
The specialty menu planned for the evening had several mocktails on the list. The food was tasty and the drinks were even better! The ingredients are locally sourced and even grown on-site. After making our choices, conversations kept flowing. As creatures of habit, most people chatted only with the ladies at their table, but everyone had smiles on their faces and was enjoying their evening together.
I had a great night out and can’t wait to check out Fourth & Field in the daylight. I also can’t wait to attend another MNO event! Don’t let the fear of going solo stop you from coming to a Mom’s Night Out because I guarantee you will have fun and find some other mamas to chat with!

Fourth & Field is inspired by American farm-to-table comfort food. We source our products locally when possible – we are located near so many wonderful farms, how could we not?! In 2024, we will have EIGHT beautiful raised beds in front of F&F filled with our very own homegrown vegetables and herbs.

The meaning of Fourth and Field is simple and heartfelt. The “Fourth” stands for Melissa Simon’s (Partner and Operating Manager) “fourth” baby (she has 3 small children at home) and “Field” reflects both the airfield and our farm/field foods!
You will find Melissa, her husband Brian, and their partners Tom and Maria, at Fourth & Field almost daily – it is their second home!
