Puzzlemania was once again a favorite event for me. Combining three of my favorite things: puzzles, moms making time for themselves, and building connections.
We started the evening with a 1,000-piece puzzle that we all worked on together and while we chatted, we learned that two of the moms have newborns born on the same exact day! Another mom’s kids go to the school that another mom teaches at – and she knew her kids! I just love it when chatting about our lives uncovers unexpected connections!
Amanda Khatib, one of our contributors, provided us with an extensive selection of puzzles from her collection to choose from and generously offered them up for attendees to take home with them as part of our puzzle exchange.
The room provided a gorgeous view of Lake Quinsigamond out of the windows that span the entire back wall of the room. The room was light, bright, and spacious. Thinking about the space for family-friendly events, I liked that the whole space was one big room, so you could easily keep your eyes on kids from across the room. The bathrooms are also located directly off the main space, which just simplifies everything (IYKYK).
After we finished the 1,000-piece donut puzzle, we started a couple of others and it was ultimately a race against the clock to finish the last one before the event ended, but we did it!
Just like last time, Central Mass Mom provided some charcuterie and cookies, and there were drinks, both a full bar selection, as well as non-alcoholic options available for purchase.
If you have been nervous to check out our events alone, check out our events calendar for upcoming activity-based events! These are super casual and a great way to break the ice and get the conversations going!
