Mom’s Night Out at Agronomy Farm Vineyard Recap!

1

Our Mom’s Night Out at Agronomy Farm Vineyard was so much fun!

We did not let the rainy weather stop us from taking over the Agronomy Farm Vineyard tasting room! We sipped on some of the most delicious wine and maple hard cider.

Laughter and conversation filled the room as we all mingled and chatted about all the things. Some attendees came solo, in pairs, and even some came in a big group from Pine Acres Family Camping Resort – which is just over a mile away. We chatted about early intervention to sending off the last one to college, the stressors and joys that motherhood brings to our lives, to how delicious the charcuterie board and wine were. It really was a wonderful, low-key, casual evening spent with mamas of all ages and stages. We can’t wait to do it again!

The tasting room and grounds of Agronomy Farm Vineyard are stunning. Marissa and her husband Corey, are the owners and they are incredibly knowledgeable about the winemaking process. They also make cider and maple syrup. Marissa knew exactly what type of red or white we would each love, and honestly, their wine was unbelievably delicious. There was no way we were leaving without a bottle or two for later!

Some of us enjoyed a beer from a local brewery, Seven Saws Brewing Company, and we devoured the delectable charcuterie, fruit, and veggie boards by charCUTErie Woo.

Agronomy Farm Vineyard

A scientist and an engineer, Corey and Marissa O’Connor have spent the past 15 years working for large corporations. Their dream of opening a farm and vineyard is the result of their interest in science and technology but is also fueled by their desire to expand on the “cube” and corporate life and take a more hands-on approach to what it means to work. The idea came about as a result of their desire to make quality craft goods on their own property and to create a place where people could have an experience bringing nature, friends, and high-quality handcrafted goods together. Agronomy Farm Vineyard was established as an idea on their honeymoon in 2011 in Tahiti but would not come to fruition until they purchased the property in Oakham in 2013. The 1.85-acre vineyard was planted in May of 2014 with half of the vines a red varietal, Marquette, and the other half a white varietal called Cayuga. The tasting room was built and opened for the first time in October 2018.

Charcuterie WooCharcuterie Woo came to life on Valentine’s Day in 2021. Owner and Founder Kerry Dwyer, an ICU nurse, and her husband Tommy Dwyer a local Comedian and Tech Sales Account Executive, dreamed up the idea during the COVID-19 lockdown. Kerry started making boards for her and Tommy every week for a date night; one night she posted the board on social media and it drew enough interest that her passion quickly became a business. Now Kerry makes all types of specialty boards, has a board of the month club for those that want a different type of board every month, provides large grazing tables for weddings, and, with Tommy, teaches several classes a month both virtually and in person all over New England. Both from Worcester MA, Kerry and Tommy, love to support local artisans, craft makers, and specialty food shops. We look forward to providing a board for your next special occasion or hosting a charcuterie-making class for your next big party!
