5 Local Coffee Shops to Take Yourself Out on a Date

coffee shopsPre-mom life, I would have never had the courage or strength to take myself out on a date. I would always admire those who would be out, by themselves, enjoying lunch or a coffee. It looked so peaceful and confident! Then, I became a mom and suddenly, I had the confidence to do it or maybe I just desperately needed some alone time! Taking yourself out for a coffee or tea can be as long as you want or need it to be.

Here are some of the best local coffee shops in the Worcester area that are perfect for a little “me time”:

Acoustic Java in Worcester

This coffee shop has a lot to offer. Easy location to park and plenty of seating. They are located in a renovated mill building. Check their calendar of events online- they have live music and classes for you to enjoy. As for the coffees and teas, they have a large selection of both with delicious lattes. They are focused on “quality and sustainability” with every sip! My favorite drinks are their seasonal offerings. I try something new every time I go and I am never disappointed.

Infused Cafe in Worcester

Relatively new to the city, and located at the Worcester Ice Center, you will find a women-owned coffee shop. I love visiting and supporting this local shop and they make it easy to do so with their friendly faces and delicious drinks. My absolute favorite here is their matcha latte! Depending on the time you go and how busy the ice center is, parking in the lot can be tricky but I never have a problem finding a spot on the street. Pro tip: when you are done at the coffee shop, walk across the street and grab a cupcake at Queen’s Cups!

Brilla Coffee in Holden

I stumbled upon this shop when I was looking for a local place with a drive-through. At the time, driving around with my sleeping newborn required additional coffee without leaving my car! I am happy my newborn days brought me to Brilla because they are awesome! The indoor space is cozy and warm and I have enjoyed every drink I have tried. They have fun seasonal offerings and food as well!

New Tradition in Worcester

If you are looking for a different vibe, look no further than New Tradition. They are a coffee shop and a bar. Inside, you will also find a barber shop. The staff is always so friendly and the decor is really vibrant. I love their chai latte and honey latte. Parking can be tricky (they have a small lot) but somehow, I have always found a spot! I am excited for the next time I can get an evening babysitter so I can experience their bar offerings!

New City Microcreamery in Hudson

Ice cream and a latte? Yes, please! New City is known more for its ice cream (have you ever had their Vanilla Bourbon flavor? YUM!),  but they also have many coffee and latte options. In the warmer weather, they have outdoor seating and plenty of seating inside. Once you are done, grab the rest of your latte and walk downtown. Check out The Haberdash and treat yourself to a new outfit!

Keep this list of 5 local coffee shops handy for when you need some time for yourself. These shops are great local spots to also meet up with a friend – for those moments when you need connection. Investing in yourself (even something small like a coffee moment) is just as important as all the superhero mom stuff you do every day! Enjoy!
