West End Creamery, in Whitinsville, MA, is more than just a creamery! Enjoying a delicious cone of ice cream is the cherry on top of a fun-filled day. Did you know they have an entire outdoor adventure park right behind the creamery? With over 25 games and activities, there’s something for everyone. Bear right as you drive into the parking lot and see it for yourself!
Here’s what you can expect to do at West End Creamery Adventure Farm:
- Farmyard Challenge: One of the main features (and one of our favorites) is a huge, wood-framed structure housing 12 different obstacle course-type activities. Climb the rock wall, balance on a tight rope, crawl through ropes, walk on tires, and more. This is a hit with the big kids, but the littles also enjoy it with adult assistance.
- Barnyard 500 Pedal Carts: There are 3 different-sized pedal carts, making this fun for adults and kiddos alike!
- Cow Train: We call it the “Moo Choo!”. Kids can ride this adorable barrel train alone or with an adult in certain seats.
- Corn Crib: Literally a sandbox, but with corn kernels in place of sand. Use scoops and dump trucks to play in the corn. Cover your friends in corn (from the neck down of course!). Keep an eye on your very little ones to make sure they don’t eat the corn or put it up their nose. You know it’s been a great day when you find corn in their diaper at home!
- Barnyard Jump: Take off your shoes and have some fun on two massive jump pillows. Must be 36 inches to jump. Kiddos can use one or both pillows, depending on their height. There are some goats for viewing next to the jump pillows as well.
- Tractor Tire Mountain: Climb to the top and get a cool view of the park!
- Ball Zone: A huge hit for your sports-loving kids! Throw basketballs, baseballs, and footballs into different-sized holes for some target practice.
- Additional attractions: Duck Races, Farmer Fastpitch, Who’s Your Pumpkin? (Like Guess-Who..but pumpkin style), Conk the Crow, Farm Skeeball, Barnyard Basketball, Wall Ball Mazes, Gaga Ball, Roller Bowler, Spiderweb, Tug – o’ – War, and Bubble Station
The Adventure Farm also includes a section called Battle Zone. This activity uses modified paintball guns that shoot squishy balls, not paint! Children must be 42″ to play, and this is an additional cost.
Know Before You Go to the West End Creamery Adventure Farm:
- Admission: Adults and kiddos 36″ and taller require a paid admission of $13.95. There aren’t any time limits—stay as long as you want during open hours.
- If you plan to go at least 4 times, a season pass is worth it! A season pass costs $47.50 per person and is good from mid-April to Labor Day. After Labor Day, the Fall Festival starts, and your season pass is no longer valid.
- Food: A small snack shack sells light bites and drinks (including Del’s lemonade!). Outside food is allowed!
- Water: Make sure you bring plenty of water! There isn’t a refill station, but you can buy bottled water if you need more. They take credit cards, so you’re all set.
- Amenities:
- Although there are several “real” bathrooms up at the creamery, the Adventure Farm only has porta-potties. Is your child afraid of these small, dark spaces? No problem! You can exit the adventure farm and walk up the hill to the restroom on the back side of the creamery. Once finished, you can re-enter.
- There is a “Little Pumpkin Rest Stop” for infant feeding and changing. Thank you, West End Creamery, for including this feature!
- Shade: Except for the jump pad area, there is not a lot of shade. Come prepared with hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen! Need a break from the heat? You can sit inside the air-conditioned part of the creamery to cool down.
- Mini Golf: The mini golf is NOT included in the Adventure Farm. It is a separate cost.
- The staff at the entrance have bandages if any boo boos do occur.
- Tips: Staff at the entrance have a first aid kit. At the entrance, you can write your name and phone number on a bracelet for your child to prevent separation.
- FREE Parking.
And finally, the Creamery! With over 60 options, there is something for everyone. Enjoy your ice cream on the covered deck or inside the cool creamery. After ice cream, my kids love to roll down the grassy hill. A perfect way to end a beautiful summer day!
