Playground Features
Assabet Park
Description

Relatively new build playground with a ‘driving track’ surrounding the park for strollers or ride-on toys. There is a splashpad directly adjacent to the park, check the town website for operating hours. There is plenty of dedicated parking, accessed by a steep walk up/down a paved pathway.

Beaver Street Playground
Carlisle Castle Playground
Description

**This playground is the elementary and middle school playground and is NOT open to the public during school hours**

It is one of the largest playgrounds in Massachusetts, and was completely rebuilt within the last 5 years. It is worth the drive!

It is almost completely shaded, so it keeps cooler than most parks on a hot day. It is built on a hill and the ground is fully woodchipped, so it is NOT stroller friendly or accessible, except for a very small portion of the structure right by the entrance.

Outside of school hours, there is a small parking lot on School Street, or a much larger parking lot off of Church Street.

The town library is a short walk along a wooded trail which can be accessed opposite the entrance to the Church Street parking lot. The library has public bathrooms and a great children’s room during normal operating hours.

Castle in the Trees Playground
Description

Castle in the Trees playground has two separate areas, a wooden structure that is better suited for bigger kids, and a red and tan plastic structure that is great for the littler ones. There is also a big grassy area, basketball courts, and a paved walkway that surrounds the basketball courts.

Description

Cellucci Playground is a small playground located next to a small splashpad. There is also a large grassy area with a gazebo, as well as some trails that meander down to a brook, and a skate park.

Dean Park
Description

The playground at Dean Park was rebuilt in 2023 and is situated among a large open green space with a number of rentable pavilions, tennis courts, basketball courts, baseball fields, and Dean Park Pond..

Dunn State Park
Description

Located within the Dunn State Park in Gardner, this playground is surrounded by hiking trails, fishing, swimming, places to picnic or barbeque and more.

Parking is $8 for Massachusetts plates between May 25 and September 2.

Permanent bathrooms are located in the visitors center which open daily until 8PM. If the visitor center is closed, there are porta-potties near the parking lot.
