Fun Summer Birthday Party Ideas

0

I was born in July, and I loved having a summer birthday. Sometimes it could be difficult to plan because people would be on vacation, but it was always so much fun. Once I was able to celebrate, the day included several outside activities. I grew up without a pool, so my mom and I had to be creative to beat the summer heat with fun summer birthday party ideas. I wish I could do these outdoor activities for my son’s birthday, but he was born at the beginning of March. Living in New England makes that pretty difficult to plan outdoor birthday party activities.

Here are some guaranteed fun and inexpensive ideas for a summer birthday bash:

Pool or beach party

I had close family members that would allow us to use their pool whenever we wanted. One year, for my 16th birthday party, I rounded up my closest friends and cousins, and we went to my relative’s house and held my birthday party there. It was so much fun, and I still say it was one of my best birthday parties. I know the pool may not be an option for everyone. Maybe your town has a pool or a local beach/lake that you could host it at. Or you could set up a sprinkler in your backyard.

Water Balloons

Water balloons are a great alternative. I mean, come on, who doesn’t love chucking water balloons at people and getting them soaked? At my 30th birthday party a few years ago, I had water balloons. It was so much fun seeing the kids and adults laughing while throwing water balloons, even if I was their main target.

Fill some water balloons up, store them in a cooler, and pull them out during your party for a guaranteed good time. You can even turn them into games and competitions like a relay race or balloon toss. No matter how you want to use them, it will be great entertainment for all party guests.

Make Your Own Sundae

Cake and ice cream are usually a staple at birthday parties. A fun way to beat the heat and entertain guests is to have a “make your own sundae” bar. You can buy different flavored ice cream and a variety of toppings so the guests can build their sundae however they’d like. This is such a creative (and tasty) addition to a birthday party.

Inflatable Water Slide

If you want to (and can) splurge, you can always rent an inflatable bounce house with a water slide. GuestsGuests can jump in the bounce house and cool off by going down the slide. It can be lots of fun for all ages. How much fun does this sound? The guests will be occupied for hours.

Go to a park

If you don’t have the space or means to host, you can always go to a park to celebrate. You can set up different activities/competitions for the guests to compete in. They can also run around and play at the playground. If the park has a splash pad, it’s a bonus because the guests can cool down after all the running and playing. It’s a win-win for all!

There are endless options for fun activities to do at a summer birthday party, but these are just a few examples. It doesn’t have to be a whole-day thing or even an expensive event. A couple of hours is all you need for a bountiful birthday bonanza.
