Children’s TV Shows That Adults Will Enjoy Watching

0

Television is always a hot topic of debate for parents. Should children be allowed to watch TV? In my opinion, as long as it’s educational, I never have a problem with throwing TV on to have someone else entertain my children for a little bit. Not everyone feels this way, and that’s ok.

If you are on Team TV, then here are some good children’s TV shows that may also keep you captivated:

Ms. Rachel

I wish Ms. Rachel were around when my first child was born. My daughter is obsessed with Ms. Rachel, and even my 5-year-old asks to put it on. I find myself humming the songs and even singing them during my daily life. For example, when I drop something, I start to sing “Uh Oh, I dropped my toy. This is the uh oh song”. Not only does she have catchy songs that you’ll sing without even realizing it, but she also teaches sign language, phonics, and helps children with their vocabulary. This is a great educational show for young children.

Blippi

Ms. Rachel may not have been around when my son was a baby, but instead, he had Blippi. If you can get past the voice, this show is truly spectacular. I swear my son learned all of the construction trucks by the time he was two years old from watching Blippi. He has fun and catchy songs, and he does some extremely cool things and gets to go to exciting places. When we went to Florida, we went to a children’s museum because we saw it on Blippi’s show, and it looked so fun, so we wanted to check it out. I am happy to report that it did not disappoint. It was as fun as it looked on Blippi.

Danny Go!

I first heard about Danny Go! from my son’s preschool class. In a few of their class holiday performances, they performed to Danny Go! songs, and I was in awe of how fun these were! Not only are the videos fun and silly, but they also get your kids up and moving. My son will randomly ask to watch a Danny Go! video and watching him jump, dodge, and move around while watching makes me so happy! These are a great way to get your kids off the couch and moving around, especially as this colder weather approaches.

Bluey

I, personally, have never seen an episode of Bluey (I know, I know, what’s wrong with me?) because my son was never interested in it, but I always secretly wished he would want to start watching it. I hear from all my fellow moms how good Bluey is and how much they even enjoy it. They say the messages in the show are meaningful, and the show just seems super cute. Plus, I love the Australian accent. I guess there’s still hope that my daughter will like it.

PBS

Yes, I’m aware that PBS is not a show, but I couldn’t pick just one from this channel. There are so many good ones like Wild Kratts, Daniel Tiger, and of course, the OGs of good shows, Sesame Street and Magic School Bus. These shows are educational, promote diversity, and teach great lessons about bullying, inclusion, and increase language development. I always learned new information while watching these shows, even as an adult.

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse

I mean, you can’t really go wrong with Mickey Mouse and all of his friends. This show is so cute for young children and is educational as well. The songs are, and the phrases that the characters use are equally catchy (for adults, too). When my son was a baby, my husband and I would have conversations about Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and would catch ourselves singing the songs, even when our son was nowhere in sight.

Are any of these shows your children’s favorites? What are some other ones that you recommend that may also be enjoyable (or should I say tolerable) for adults?
