woman reading by poolIs there anything better than a steamy romance and a cold drink on a sunny day? These are the five books I’m completely obsessed with this summer. They’re fun, flirty, and full of those delicious moments that make you kick your feet and scream into your pillow.

Now, let’s dive into these 5 spicy summer reads that I can’t stop thinking about:

1. Just for the Summer by Abby Jimenez

I completely fell in love with this one. It’s about two people who believe they’re cursed; every person they date ends up finding “the one” right after breaking up with them. So, they decide to date each other, thinking they’ll cancel each other out. Spoiler: it does not go as planned (in the best way).

This book is such a warm hug. There’s so much heart, sweet family dynamics, and a lakeside summer setting that made me want to pack up and move into a cabin immediately. It’s not overly explicit, but the chemistry and emotional intimacy? Off the charts.

Perfect for: If you want to laugh, swoon, and maybe even tear up a little.

2. Problematic Summer Romance by Ali Hazelwood

This book felt like a guilty pleasure in the most delicious way. We’ve got a grad student and her brother’s best friend, and a scorching age gap romance that takes place at a wedding in Sicily. I loved the vacation-y vibes and how self-aware the story is about its “problematic” elements.

Ali really cranked up the spice here. It’s so much more daring than her STEM romances, and I couldn’t put it down. Think steamy villa moments, late-night walks in Taormina, and all the delicious “should we/shouldn’t we” tension.

Perfect for: Anyone craving an Italian summer escape who isn’t afraid of a little taboo heat.

3. ’Till Summer Do Us Part by Meghan Quinn

Oh. My. Gosh. This one had me snorting my fizzy drink. It follows Scottie, who pretends to be married so she can fit in at work. She ends up roping her best friend’s brother, Wilder, into a fake marriage. But instead of keeping it casual, Wilder signs them up for a full-blown adult marriage therapy camp in the woods.

It’s chaotic, hilarious, and somehow still manages to be super sweet. You’ll fall in love with Wilder (who is such a golden retriever hero) and root for Scottie as she figures out what she actually wants from love and life.

Perfect for: If you want to laugh until your cheeks hurt, while also getting hit with those “oh no, I actually caught feelings” vibes.

4. Deep End by Ali Hazelwood

I loved all of these books, but I think this one might be my favorite. If you’ve only read Ali’s STEM girl romances, buckle up. This book goes way deeper (pun intended) into kink and self-exploration. It’s about a college junior who decides to dive into her fantasies and discovers not just what she wants physically, but also who she wants to be.

It’s intense, empowering, and yes, very spicy. I loved that it explored boundaries and consent so thoughtfully while still being absolutely addictive.

Perfect for: If you’re in the mood to explore something a little darker and bolder than the usual summer beach read.

5. Icebreaker by Hannah Grace

This one totally lived up to the hype. A figure skater and a hockey player forced to share a rink after an accident? Yes, please. The tension is so good. From flirty chirps to full-on smoldering stares that had me squealing.

Besides the spice (which is chef’s kiss), there’s a lot of emotional depth, and the supporting characters make it feel like you’re hanging out with a big friend group. Perfect for fans of sports romance or anyone who loves a sunshine/grumpy dynamic.

Perfect for: When you want something that feels like a big, warm (but very steamy) hug.

Which one should you read first?

If you want something sweet and summery: Just for the Summer.
If you want full-on chaos and laughs: ’Til Summer Do Us Part.
If you’re ready to get spicy (like, really spicy): The Deep End or Problematic Summer Romance.
And if you want the viral sports romance moment: Icebreaker.

Which one are you adding to your pool bag first? Or do you have a spicy summer read I need to know about? Let me know in the comments—and happy reading!
