Summer is here. This may be an unpopular opinion, but I’m not a huge fan of summer. The heat. The humidity. No, thank you. So, if you’re anything like me you will always be trying to find ways to stop the sweat and beat the heat. At our house, we have some fun favorite water toys to keep us cool during the summer. If you don’t have a pool in your yard these toys might make a great addition to your water toys.
Here are some of our favorite water toys to keep cool in the heat during the hot summer months:
Slip and Slide
I purchased this one at T.J. Maxx but they have them on Amazon and at Target. This was the perfect size for my 4-year-old son. No inflating was necessary. We just hooked it up to the hose and it inflated. It had sprinklers spraying on the side to make it slippery. My son couldn’t really get the sliding part down, but he had a blast running and getting all wet from the spraying water.

Splash Pad
This mini splash pad is a fun addition to our backyard “oasis” on a hot summer day. It is super easy to set up. You attach the hose and the water starts spraying. The mat on the bottom even fills up with water to make it possible for your kids to sit in it and splash around.

Buckets of Water
My son is in a phase of wanting to wash all of his bikes and toy cars. I started filling a bucket with water and throwing some sponges in there, and my son has had a blast being able to wash his toys. He even then started washing himself and proceeded to help me wash my car.

Water Blasters
These are such a fun way to cool off in the heat. My son loves spraying everyone and everything he possibly can. Hey, sometimes we even put him to work and have him water flowers with it. How fun is it to have a water fight and attack each other while also cooling off in the process?
Sprinkler
There’s nothing like running through a sprinkler to cool off. Whether it’s one of the old-fashioned metal sprinklers or one of the fun-shaped sprinklers they have available. Either way, sprinklers are a great way to cool off. My son loves to just stand above the sprayers and spray him directly.
How do you keep cool during the summer? Did some of your favorite water toys make this list? What are some other fun ways to beat the heat?
